So Suen Wai Ching
In memory of So Suen Wai Ching, born in Hong Kong on December 10th, 1929; and passed away on October 3rd, 2016 at Burnaby Hospital. She will be forever remembered as our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Suen Wai Ching married So Kai Chui in 1947 in Hong Kong. She raised her 6 children after the passing of her husband in 1962. Although she had some support from her in-laws, it was a trying time; her strength, grace and dedication shined through as she overcame this challenging period.
In 1992, she immigrated to Vancouver, Canada. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior the following year, and was baptized at the Burnaby Chinese Alliance Church. For most of her life, and up until several months before her passing, she enjoyed relatively good health and traveled around the globe for vacations with, and visited, her children and grandchildren.
If you have met her, she always had a smile on her face (and who could forget those rosy cheeks!), and seen the joy she had in life; she was also one “tough-cookie” with a great sense of humor. She was also famous for her Sweet and Sour Pork and Chinese Turnip Cake.
To our cherished Matriarch, we are proud to be your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren! May you rest in peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
